English Subject Competition
On the morning of 13th December, the Primary School Division held the ‘Spring Cup’ English subject competition. According to the age characteristics of students, different forms of competition were set up in this competition, which were successively: reading pictures and reading words (Grade 1), reading picture books (Grade 2), and telling stories in English (Grade 3 and 4). All the participating students are excellent student representatives selected from class competitions.
To be concrete, the competitions for Grade One and Grade Two were held in the Teaching and Research Activity Room of the Primary School Division. The reading materials are from textbooks. In order to have a better performance, the young players have made sufficient preparations in advance. Additionally, during the competition, the judges were impressed by their focused expressions and clear and fluent English pronunciation. On the other hand, the competitions for Grade Three and Grade Four were held separately in the reading room. In order to win the ranking, the contestants practiced their English pronunciation and elaborately designed the story movements before the competition, which attracted the praise of the judges.
To put it in a nutshell, in the ‘Spring Cup’ competition, students deepened their understanding and memory of textbook knowledge through the preparation, and gained confidence by showcasing their abilities.
